Thursday 15th May

Thursday.Last Day.

Went to school early in the morning for brand building. Then after that i went to 2D lab to continue with the stopp work. Yanping was doing animatics for us. We were rushing like mad. Mounting the posters and printing name cards and everything. 

We were the 2nd group to present. We finished everything but we didn't have time to render. In the end during our presentation, we only manage to introduce ourselves, talk a little bit about our work and we had to be send off. Cause we didn't have anything to show. 

We really did our work We put in alot alot of effort in everything we had done. I stay up late for a lot of days just to put in everything i can and make the best of everything.

It was really tough for me and the rest of the group members.

I drained all my energy. So much so that I didn't manage to turn up for my brand building presentation the next day. This is the first time, I had ever missed out a presentation. I'm very disappointed in myself and i disappoint all my groupmates.

Wednesday 14th May

It was super tiring yesterday. Which is a Wednesday. 

I went to school at in the morning and I slept at 5.30am the previous night. It almost took my life away. I was damn tired and was still stress about which streaming option to go to. Ya...but anywayyyyy.

Went back to 2D lab and continued with our stopp work after my brand building discussion.

We were drawing like mad. It was non-stop drawing for us. 

Posters making, name cards and cd covers and mood board. I swear we were putting in a lot of efforts.

After the storyboarding, we scanned every frame into the computer one by one =.=. Then we decided that we should colour all the frames. And I am the inker.

We got over 100 frames to be coloured. I used Photoshop to fill in the colours. And all these works made us stay in school till 12am midnight. Our eyes were protesting, ok my eyes and body were protesting. But we can't stop the work cause the next day is our assessment. So I continued to rush my colouring when i got home ard 1am. 

I continued with my colouring and then Rachael offered to help me with the colouring. So i split some with her :)

Seriously thanks for sharing the workload with me! i would probably die if i didn't do tgt with you. Cause even after sharing with you, i took a lot of time to colour the rest. I stay up till 530am in the morning. =(

The next day I came to school feeling very dead. I slept for one hour and I force myself to get out of the bed. Cause I need to reach school for my brand building work.

Tuesday 13th May

We met up again today to do our work. We split up according to what we were assigned.

I went to do on research regarding the environment design. 

Based on what we know, we deduce that the setting of the surroundings must be of country feel and less modernization stuff. Instead of cement road, it will be sandy road. And instead of brick houses, it will be wooden houses. All the little details will further enhance the mood of the whole storyboard.

While Rachael and Raymond trace the storyboards and Rae drawing everything more tightly so that it will be more flow. 

Rachael also did the character designs.

We also added in establishing shot and the overview of the whole 'village'.

Joel has also done research on the costumes of the people during that time. Other researches such as the interior of the house, the fireplace and prison were also done.

We saw Majorie's group doing on the promotion side. Such as namecards and posters. I think that is a pretty good idea, because it will leave a better impressions on our client. 

I spent alot of time finding the correct environment for our storyboard. And I was pretty stress out by a lot things.

This module, my another module which is brand building (damn boring by the way) and the streaming options I have yet to choose =/ 

Animation or Video? I really got no idea what to do and where to go. What do I really want to do in my life. What am I good at? I'm damn lost but I only left with one more day to think about it. 

I can do it. I can do it. I can do it. 

Monday 12th May

Hello. Today is our StoPP presentation. I rushed my storyboard like mad the previous night. Lack of sleep caused me to skip my morning class again. =/ Thats very bad, but i really can't get up. I was THAT tired.

My storyboard was not very clear and distinct. So it looks very different and very half-done compared to Rachael's one. Hers is damn good I swear. 

We came to school slightly earlier to scan my part of storyboard into the computer. They were doing powerpoint slides for the presentations. 

We were the second to present.

Our idea for this project is more of morphing.

Basically our idea is to portray directly the story in the song. And instead of using cuts and other transitions, we decided to make it continuous and use the morphing technique. 

However, Ronald stated that we shouldn't have translate directly from the song and that he is not sure if our idea will work out =/ 

But we explained that most country songs tells a story in their music video. So we want to do the same as well. However we uses a more different approach (morphing) to tell the story.

I thought our idea was quite good actually. Cause it is different.

But due to our lack of research, we showed holes in our storyboard.Trying so hard to prove our point of it being a country songs, our settings and furniture are all modern ones. Ronald noticed that and point it out to us. He also stated that we should show character design and stuff.

After our presentation, we decided to stick to our idea (after consulting Ronald) but further improve it. I'm gonna do on environment design and Rae is on character. Joel will be doing all the research and stuffs while yanping and raymond will be doing the animatics.

Yay, 3 more days. Go gogogo!

Friday 9th May

I don't know there's group discussion at 12.30pm. I knew the meeting like, 12 something on that day. Nevermind, shit happens.

Meeting was rather productive I feel. We manage to come up the whole storyboard in 2 hours. The ideas came flowing out of us and i think we rock. Haha. Although there's some little tiny conflicts in betweens but I guess its okay now.

Our idea are continuous flow. Theres no transitions in between. Means like, the water will shape into a hand and then show the next scene then zoom in to a photo and show next scene. If you get what I mean... ya.

Rachael and I will do the storyboard. We split half half (:
There will be presentation of storyboard on Monday. I hope everything goes well!

And the final submission for it is thursday! YES I CAN'T WAIT SERIOUSLY.

Thursday 8th May.

Finally we were given our StoPP final assignment to work on.
Its a group work. And my group consist of Yanping, Raymond, Rachael, Joel and myself of course. I hope everything will go on smoothly.

Anyway, straight after Ronald finish his briefing for us. We started on our research. Since my group got 5 people, we were asked to do on Coward of the County.
We found the song online and we generated some ideas for our storyboard. And then we went off separate ways during lunch (:

Even though its just for a short while. But at least there's a rough idea in our head (:
